Bible Lesson Abilities
Everyone has different gifts and abilities that they use during their lives. If you have a gift and or ability that is unique and you use it to everyone’s benefit then you are doing a good thing with your gift. If you have a gift or ability and you do not use it to its full potential then you are not only cheating yourself but you are also achieving those around you. If you are a youth leader or youth minister, you are cheating your students because you are not living up to your full potential.
If you’re not born with a unique ability don’t worry. If you practice enough and you are dedicated anybody can for the most part learned to do anything to a high degree. Not everybody is a gifted baseball player they lack the hand eye coordination than it takes to hit a baseball with a baseball bat. But if you practice day in and day out eventually hitting a baseball will become second nature to you. You may never become the greatest baseball player to ever live but at the same time your ability will be much greater than you ever thought it could ever become.
Here are a few abilities that every youth worker needs to have when delivering quality Bible lessons to youth ministry.
Whenever you are teaching your students and delivering a Bible lesson to your youth ministry one ability that sets the ground work for success is the ability to keep your students attention. Keeping the attention of your students can at times be a very difficult task. Teenagers have a long day with school work and also extracurricular activities. Thrown on top of that a Bible study group or a Bible lesson and it can at times feel a little overwhelming for your students. So if you are energized and passionate about your subject that you are teaching to your students you’ll be able to engage them and keep their attention throughout the entire class.
Having the ability to energize your class is also a great gift to have. When you do not drone on about a certain topic for an extended period of time and you switch up the class material with games and also icebreaker activities you keep your students on their toes. Keeping your students on their toes and off balance will keep them energized throughout the learning experience. When you keep your students energized and excited they are eager to learn and absorb the material that you are teaching.
Another ability that a great youth leader has when teaching a Bible lesson is the ability to be charismatic. Not everybody has an outgoing personality and it will not come natural to everybody. But when you’re charismatic outgoing and passionate about the subject that you are teaching to your students, everybody will be hanging on every single word that you are saying. By being passionate about a Bible lesson and wanting your students to learn the material, they will without a doubt be more likely to engage in classroom activities and also have fun in your youth ministry.
