MindWare Logic Links Overview
While most of us do not take too kindly to working instead of resting, there are various challenges in this world which most of us tackle with great pleasure, such as solving mysteries for instance. For many people, reading Doyle’s or Christie’s novels is a perfect way of relaxing; solving puzzles and mysteries is just something people like to do. A number of educational toys were created around the concept of puzzle solving and how children like it, with one of the most notable toys being MindWare’s Logic Links.
A Brief Look at Logic Links
So what precisely is this toy? Well, it is actually quite simple as it consists of 48 cardboard chips and over 100 different challenge cards. On each card is a set of clues according to which you need to arrange the indicated number of chips. A player completes a challenge card once the sequence of chips they have laid out fulfills every criteria dictated by the clues.
There are various levels of challenge; the first ones are quite simple and only make use of a few chips, but as you progress things get harder and harder until you get to the final stages where the sequences are quite long and complex, at least from a child’s point of view.
Is Logic Links Worth Trying?
Well, to start things off you should know that there are actually four different Logic Links sets, each one designed for a certain age group. Level A is for ages 5 to 7, level B is for ages 7 to 9, level C for 10 to 11 and level D for ages 12 and up. The difficulty curve is quite smooth and the puzzles were put together not by random Joes but by people who have invested many years of their lives to study child education and development. The puzzles are never too hard or too easy, remaining fun and challenging throughout the four levels.
For an educational perspective, Logic Links helps children to develop their logical and critical thinking as they are required to solve a mystery in front of them by thinking outside the box while adhering to the clues. It will teach them to recognize when various factors are at work in any type of event; they will have thoughts of their own and won’t be a blind follower.
The Customer’s Opinion
Many people have tried the product, and the average score for the reviews is a little over 4 out of 5 stars. However, the complaints people had were quite minor, with some of them pointing out a spelling mistake in one of the cards while others claimed the puzzles to be a bit too complicated for their children. These flaws can be easily ignored in light of the games’ benefits: it keeps your children occupied and interested all while helping them develop their critical thinking skills… not to mention that the more time they spend learning from toys like these, the less time they are going to spend dumbing themselves down with television. All in all, MindWare’s Logic Links definitely deserves your attention if you are looking for educational toys.
