Trichy – the City of Rock Fort and Temples

This tower was built by Maratha King Serfoji in the year 1814; this is an eight-story tower and serves as a lighthouse. The meaning of Manora is small minar.

Chola King Rajendra ordered the construction of this. In this place you will see a lot of sculptures such as the dancing Ganesha, and figure of King Rajendra.

 

  1. Thanjavur

In this place you will find the temple of Brahadeeswarar which was dedicated to Lord Shiva during the Chola Empire. You will be able to see beautiful architecture, sculpture, as paintings. There is also a museum which contains Chola Arifacts.

  1. Saint Joseph’s Church

This church was built in the year 1812. You can locate this near Theppakulam.

  1. Narthamalai

This is one of the oldest structural stone temples in the place. This was built by the Mutharaiyars. You will be able to find six large expertly carved statues of Vishnu. During the 9th century the Pallava cave was dedicated to Lord Shiva.
