What To Wear For Parties
Nothing is more exhilarating than a good party is. It is the time to throw caution to the wind and have some fun amongst the good cheer of friends. Despite the carefree mood that goes with the party, do not be deceived to think that the same applies for your dressing. If there is one thing that people will remember you by at a party it is how your dressed on top of how much you drink so take care on these two areas.
When it comes to dressing, you want to enter the party with a bang. Something that shouts fabulous and fun but at the same time is comfortable for you. If you are drawn to thinking of a pair of jeans by the word comfortable, you may get away with it, but jeans do not get to show off your feminine self at a lovely party.
• Settling for the best option
At the mentions of a party, settle for nothing less but a cocktail dress. Cocktail dresses offer you much a variety to choose from when it comes to design, color and style. Above all, they allow you to accessorize with flashy jewelry and get the celebrity look in a great pair of heels. Whether it is a formal black tie party or a day out with the girls’ kind of party you can never go wrong with a cocktail dress.
If the party is formal, opt for a dress in warm darker colors that hugs your body showing off your curves. If it is a casual party or a funky one, do not shy away from the colors. Get flashy with the reds and yellows, pink and blues and get lively. Regardless of the type of party, get one appropriate to your body figure to get the best side of your assets.
If you have a short plump figure get one that accentuates your bust, and gives the illusion of your having long legs. An empire cocktail dress gathered just below the bust will do the trick. If you are taller than average do not go for a dress that is too short otherwise, it will make you look like you are sticking out of a mini doll dress.
When speaking of comfortable, it means something you will feel happy dressed in and does not make you self-conscious. Worse that a dress that does not fit you well is one you have to keep tugging at because it keeps on riding up as you walk.
• Remember to keep warm
Most parties tend to be in the evening or in the night so layer up to keep warm. Have a shawl or jacket that adds style to your dress and you can comfortably remove or put on without destroying the overall fabulous look.
On the invitation card, also check on the venue to get the right dress. If the party will be in the outdoors during the day, check on the wind factor, as you do not want the embarrassment of a dress tug of war between you and the wind. If it is a garden setting, opt more for wedges over stilettos to avoid creating holes in the grass.
Party fashion is sometimes tricky, it can take a while to arrange an outfit. I tend to wear formal dresses for parties, for example spring racing or boutique events. One of my favourite type of outfits are cocktail dresses, which are sexy and sassy. Online clothing stores don’t always stock cocktail dresses, but they are a classic. Pilgrim Clothing do some really cool ones that are very Audrey Heburn.
