Out-of-doors electronic marketing – Wintry weather Challenges

Digital out-of-doors advertising is exceptionally prevalent but just think has your modern deployment been thought out? Was it employed in the warmer months? If so there is a chance that the solution will have no cold weather defense built into the project.

When projects are born and planned for the instant installation, a common challenge arises and this is one element is sometimes overlooked. This issue does not come to light until later when the marketing hardware has been deployed for some time and customers start complaining that the LCD displays are not functioning; this is not through any physical attack, just through Mother Nature.

The chief common challenge is when a project is being fitted to a tight deadline and the customer does not comprehend the idea of a “lead time” expecting it on site tomorrow.  It only needs one component and the nonexistence of this item could potentially cause a challenge because it has been overlooked or misplaced because of the lead time.

One component that cannot be forgotten is an outdoor LCD housing, otherwise the monitor will die in the first winter, and with the supplementary costs of the stand-in display this will undoubtedly make this particular project running at a loss.

Advertisers have been known to disregard an outside electronic marketing cabinet as unwarranted, but the rationale of these shielding enclosures is to make sure the marketing machine is in a micro climate, so no matter what the outside conditions are the devices inside is kept in the most fitting and controlled order. This is done with a mix of air conditioning units, heaters and thermo management system allowing the engineer to set the right internal temperature so when the heat inside rises owing to the high external temperature the cooling unit comes on and the air inside is cooled down below the preset, the contrary happens in winter when the temperature drops fast over night, this rapid drop can affect the monitor dramatically if not protected, this is why heaters are deployed to outside LCD cases, as they work to lift the inside temperature to above the preset temperature protecting the equipment from frost and sub zero temperatures.

The heaters also nip in the bud condensation building up inside the case as this will cause the equipment to sweat, this too can have disastrous effects on the interior hardware.
