Spreading the word of your youth ministry
When you are leading a youth ministry is always a good idea to keep in touch with her students and anybody else that is interested in your youth ministry. You should be keeping in touch with the parents of your youth ministry students and also the members of your church that you are part of. It is important to spread the word of your youth ministry so that people will know what you are accomplishing and so that parents know that there is a thriving youth ministry in the community that their children can be part of. Here are a few ways to spread the word about your youth ministry!
A great way to spread the word of your youth ministry is by handing out a flyer on a weekly basis at your church services. If your church has a weekly bulletin asked the senior members for a dedicated portion of the bulletin to be focused on the youth ministry. By letting the normal weekly churchgoers know what you youth ministry is up to you are more likely to receive donations and help when the time comes for an outreach program led by your youth ministry. By having your youth ministry work in a weekly bulletin it also encourages contacts from people who have children looking for a youth ministry group. Just by getting your contact information into a weekly bulletin you will have more people joining your youth group on a more consistent basis.
Another great way to spread the word of your youth ministry is by e-mail newsletter. When you think about it all businesses for the most part have an e-mail newsletter. When you go to an electronics store to buy a pair of headphones when you are checking out they will most likely ask you for your e-mail address, this is so that they can market you on a consistent basis. E-mail marketing can be extremely effective because you are keeping your name in front of the person. A lot of people complain about a lot of junk mail so don’t send e-mails to anybody about your youth ministry unless you are providing them with interesting and creative content that spreads the word.
A great way to spread the word about your youth ministry is by getting out into your community with your students and helping the people of your town or city. By getting out and helping people not only are you doing God’s work but you are spreading the message of your youth ministry. Helping your community can be as easy as shuttle in someone’s driveway who is in need. When you are planning an outreach program with your youth ministry doesn’t have to be complicated. Just find a group of people who need help, and help them. They can be a one-time thing or a can be a recurring event if people need your services on a routine basis. When you are out helping people don’t be afraid to spread the word of your youth ministry and Jesus Christ. Encourage the people that you encounter with your youth ministry to attend your church or help out any way they can in return.
