Prioritizing Tasks Can Save Your Network Marketing Business

Why should we be prioritizing tasks?

We all bring different skills to the table. Some families are wealthy while others have specific abilities. We are all equals in one way. We are all given the same amount of time each day to work toward our goals. Why is it then that two people in the same network marketing company with similar backgrounds get such different results?

Most likely they consume their time differently. One guy works his day job of eight hours, and then goes to a business meeting, does some cold calling, and networks on facebook from 8-10p while the other goes home complaining of how tired his job made him, eats dinner, doesn’t plays xbox, and just opens up a beer and watches Monday Night Football. I understand we all have several obligations and circumstances that pull us in several directions taking our time. What differentiates a mlm leader from one who makes no money is the way the prioritize these events in their daily lives.

How does this prioritizing of tasks get accomplished?

There are three simple yet profound questions you can ask yourself to help you manage and invest your time wisely.

1. What is required of me?

What things are an absolute must in my life? One common activity that fits this category is working your job. Another may be going to church on Sunday. You may also need to spend some quality time with your family each day.

2. What gives me the highest return?

Now list the tasks that will produce the most cash flowing into your business. In network marketing we only get paid for two things – retailing products and sponsoring new distributors. It would make sense then that we should spend the majority of our business work time doing these tasks. That means prospecting and selling.

3. What gives me the greatest reward?

What fulfills you? What activities do you like doing? If you only do what’s required and what pays the best then you’ll be a accomplished producer. However, you may not be satisfied. Beware. Practically all people screw this all up. They start with tasks that give the greatest reward and stop there. That’s what the herd does. They pursue what feels good. They spend their time at bowling alleys, watching TV, or doing hobbies. They then give their mentors excuses of how busy they are. They are strapped for time, because they’re taking their kids to 5 differnet sports practices every day. They are too busy doing less important tasks to be successful.

Sit down tonight. Ask yourself these questions. Then write out your calendar for the following day. Planning yourschedule the night before is immeasurable. While sleeping your unconscious mind will dwell on these items, and decipher the best way to get them done. Also, you will hit the ground running the next day already knowing what you’re getting done that day.
