Grab A Spoon!

Of the various numbers of cutleries, one finds that the most prominent one in terms of usage is the spoon. Spoons may be of different types, of different shapes and sizes as well. However, most dishes require the application of the spoon for the proper manner of consuming them. For instance, ice creams, yogurt etc are food items that necessarily need to be eaten with the help of a spoon. Without the availability of a spoon in these cases, one may not be able to have the dish properly, if not, at all. Also these different dishes will be accompanied with spoons of different type and material. Say, for ice creams the spoons may be made of plastic, whereas the spoons for the main courses may be silverware. A special type of spoon is always provided with the purchase of cold yoghurt. These are the yogurt spoons, the spoons which have been commercially made for eating yogurt with them.

The structure of a spoons yogurt is similar to that of a normal spoon, only its length is much shorter, and the bulb of the spoon has a smaller depth. Spoons Yogurt is a franchise which is known for its yogurt delicacies, and they provide yogurt spoons with the purchase of any yogurt from their stores. They are often made from plastic, with a certain colour rendition on them. But sometimes even wooden yogurt spoons are found to be made. The next category of spoons is the one required to devour ice-cream and sundaes. They are referred to as the sundae spoons. They are different than the yogurt spoons in the way that their length is much greater, of the order of 7 inches (or 180 mms). The stalk is a perfectly straight handle, with the bulb of the spoon having a greater depth too. As the food being consumed is ice-cream, most of these sundae spoons are generally manufactured from stainless steel. Stainless steel provides the necessary tension, so that even the hardest ice-cream can be eaten without much excess applied force.

Next is the case of taster spoons. These spoons find their application where a certain dish or ingredient needs to be tasted. Since one tastes food items with this spoon, it is different than yogurt or sundae spoons. The length is kept short, however the thickness of both the handle and the bulb of the spoon are made greater. The bulb has a very little depth, and also a very small circumference. As weight of the tasting food is generally less, thus strength is not a consideration here; ergo the taster spoons are usually made out of plastic. They generally come in the colour white but sometimes coloured variations are also found. Tasting Spoons are a slight modification of the taster spoons. The tasting spoons’ comprise of a longer handle and one that is inclined instead of straight. Also their bulb is of a greater size and the depth is greater too. They are mainly used for tasting food items of a greater quantity.
