Hyundai Elantra Fluidic expected to raise Hyundai’s bar in D segment
Hyundai India hasn’t tasted success in the cars ranging above Rs 12 lakhs price range. However, this category was did not fit in the Indian car market dominated by small cars and these sedans were a little pricier at the time when it was introduced in India. Therefore, these luxury saloons, Hyundai Sonata and Hyundai Elantra could not spill the magic which the company had anticipated it would.
Hyundai Elantra sedan was endowed with good looks and at the same time was enthralling. Elantra was a decent sedan that came packed with good features, looks, performance etc. Despite of these positive attributes, the car could not rake volumes in the Indian car market. The car was present in the domestic market for four years and was phased out after that.
The sedan is all set to make its debut again in the domestic market in the month of August. However, Hyundai Elantra Price in India will decide its fate in the domestic market. The sedan will compete with the likes of Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic and Skoda Laura. Other than this the car will also rival with the newbie cars in the segment like Volkswagen Jetta, Chevrolet Cruze and Renault Fluence. The customers have ample choice in this segment, however the revamped Elantra flaunting the fluidic design could be a favourable choice for the customers. After undergoing a much required facelift the sedan is now ready to compete with its rivals.
Expected to be launched in India in both petrol and diesel variants, Hyundai Elantra should be able to generate volumes. However, the diesel version is likely to get more attention in comparison to the petrol version. The petrol variant will be powered with a 1.8 litre petrol motor that can generate a high power of 147 Bhp and a maximum torque of 181 Nm. However, the diesel trim will come equipped with a 1.6 litre diesel mill that can produce a high power of 126 Bhp and peak torque of 260 Nm. More details will be unfolded during the time of launch which is slated for mid August. Hyundai’s Sonata luxury sedan was also launched in the beginning of 2012, the luxury saloon now looks much better than before and is equipped with much better features.
Apart from Hyundai Sonata, Hyundai i20 was also launched some time back, the hatchback always had good lokks but the fluidic design has made more appealing. It is one of the best selling hatchbacks from the clan of Hyundai and is a potential contender in the premium hatchback segment. Coming back to Hyundai Elnatra the new addition in the D segment, the saloon is one of the most awaited luxury saloons in India. Let us hope that it lives up to the expectations of Hyundai and prospective customers.
