How to Hypnotize People

If you are reading this article hoping to later on manipulate one of your pals or even enemies, using one of those weird spirals we all have seen on Television where the villain takes over the world with a TV broadcast, you’ll be disappointed. Hypnotism cannot be used to manipulate or harm people, thankfully. This happens because for the suggestions being made by the hypnotherapist to work the person needs to consciously want them to work, and nobody will want to be psychologically harmed right?

Before you get yourself attempting to hypnotize your family and friends, you have to know that hypnosis is nothing more than a deep state of relaxation. All of us experience hypnosis during the day without even knowing. Those times when you get yourself very distracted and with your mind blank you are probably going through a hypnotic trance. The only difference now is that we are going to consciously cause that trance and suggest ideas into our mind.

Here’s a simple step by step plan that will help you hypnotize someone:

Step 1: Pick a Tranquil Environment

A good way to measure if your office is relaxing enough is to ask yourself the question, would I be able to sleep in here? If so, you’ve the right place. A comfortable place is essential to being able to practice hypnosis; no one can get into a deep state of relaxation in a noisy uncomfortable place.

Step 2: Tell the Person to Relax

Once you’ve your friend in a relaxed environment tell him to close his eyes and start breathing deeply and slowly while you slowly tell him to breathe in and breathe out. You can also tell him to release the tension out of every muscle on his body one by one starting on his head and going down to his feet. Choose what method works best for you.

Step 3: Get Them into the Trance

To help your patient get into the hypnotic trance that will allow you to make hypnotic suggestions, have him/her visualize a beautiful, calm and comfortable place of his/her choice and continue that for 2 to 3 minutes or until you feel he/she has got into a really relaxed state of mind and body.

Step 4: Hypnotic Suggestions

By now you should have a good understanding of the problems the person you’re hypnotizing is going through. All you need to do is to suggest him/her to exchange the negative feelings with positive ones. If he/she feels fear when driving a car, tell him/her to feel confident and relaxed and know that everything is going to be ok for example. Grab his/her negative feelings and turn them into positive ones.

Have some suggestions ready before the hypnotic session and you should have everything you need to try it out the first time. All you need is a person who trusts you and knows you’re not going to try anything shady. Don’t try it out on strangers until you’ve completely mastered it with your folks and other people you trust. To hypnotize a stranger you will need more experience and confidence as there’s no bond between you two and the individual will be more difficult to get into deep relaxation.
