Hyundai Elantra fluidic sedan launching on August 13th, 2012
Hyundai Motors India has made it clear today that it is going to launch the new version of Hyundai Elantra luxury sedan in India on August 13th, 2012. Hyundai Elantra will be a part of the D segment and will compete with the likes of other luxury saloons in this segment which includes, Toyota Corolla Altis, Skoda Laura and Chevrolet Cruze. These cars are already doing well in their respective segment of the Indian car market and it would be a little difficult for Hyundai Elantra Fluidic to skid these cars from their spots, however things will be revealed only once the sedan is launched in India.
The new Hyundai Elantra saloon has brought immense success for the Souht Korean car maker in other markets across the globe and now the company is hoping that it repeats the same success in India also. This would be the car’s second innings in the Indian car market, in its first innings it could not spill any magic and had to be phased out. However this time the major change in the saloon will be the fluidic design which will give it a completely new look. Most of the Hyundai cars launched in India flaunting fluidic design have been able to embrace success.Hyundai Elantra India price is going to play a major role in the success of the D segment sedan.
A very good example of this is the new Hyundai Verna Fluidic which was launched in the Indian car market last year in the month of May. Verna earlier was getting average sales, but ever since the sedan received a major facelift in terms of looks, features and design things have turned upside down for the sedan. It went out to give a tough competition to the bestselling sedans in C segment, Volkswagen Vento and Honda City. Hyundai Verna today is one of the bestselling sedan in India thanks to the smart pricing and availability of the saloon in both petrol and diesel versions.
It has been observed that Hyundai car priced above Rs 10 lakhs have not managed to get positive response from the customers in Indian car market. For example Hyundai Elantra only which was launched in India five years ago but due to dud sales the manufacturing of the sedan had to be stopped. Also Hyundai’s another high priced luxury sedan, Hyundai Sonata too could not perform as good as the company had expected. However, the company has launched Hyundai Sonata fluidic in the Indian car market recently. And it is the turn of Hyundai ELnatra to try its luck in the thriving domestic market yet again.
The all new Hyundai Elantra fluidic is expected to be launched in not less than seven trim levels giving a wide variety to the D segment. The car will be launched in India in petrol as well as diesel versions. The petrol version will come with a 1.8 litre GDI direct injection engine that can engender a 147 Bhp of high power along with a maximum torque of 181 Nm making it one of the most powerful engine options in the D segment.
On the other hand the diesel version of the sedan will come housed with a 1.6 litre turbo diesel engine that can produce a high power of 126 bhp and a peak torque of 260 Nm. It is very refined engine which is likely to get more bookings than the petrol version for obvious reasons. The petrol and the diesel engine will be synchronized to a six speed manual gearbox and a six speed automatic gearbox. Among the safety features the luxury D segment sedan will be equipped with 6 airbags, ESP and ABS-EBD making it one of the safe cars in its segment. The sedan will come packed with advanced features, the comfort features will also be best in its class. Hyundai dealers have started accepting booking for the Hyundai Elantra fluidic sedan.
