What Is Hot And What Is Not In Women’s Fashion?
Women fashion is about expressions of the self. Fashion designers and consultants say wear what you are and make sure it makes you feel great.
Retailers pick their orders based on seasons and their agreement with suppliers. After designers come up with new women’s clothing, they then pitch them to the market for acceptance. Those charged with this task include fellow fashion designers, the entire modeling industry. They can also directly negotiate with chain stores to sell their brand-name clothing. Other trends emerge from collaboration with celebrities to use their name in products or marketing. Here are the hottest clothing trends in women’s fashion.
1. A preference for softer colors
2012 has witnessed a great shift in the focus of designers. Most have embraced the east, which offers a galore of inspiration. In terms of color, soft blush pink is in as well as other subtle forms of bright colors. Fall calls for a dampening of bright colors to blend with the season. Winter calls for whites. This year layering on whites gives a stylish finish. Layering’s can be golden or soft creams. The idea is to evoke a feeling of tender touch.
When you get into eveningwear, softer options of warm colors reign supreme.
2. The Hat is Fashionable
Most notable this year has been the comeback to the hat. Perhaps inspired by the dressing of Queen Elizabeth, hats are now the fabulous accessory to include this year. As men don three-piece suits, women find comfort and room for extra stylishness through their hats. Among celebrities, Lady Gaga continues to wow with her fashion sense of the hat. Cloche hats have also made a comeback. Weddings and all other outside events are very appropriate for hats.
3. Layering is the new style
Instead of sticking to single pieces, that can as well be stylish, the emerging trend is to have layers. More than revealing more sides of the same outfits, layering adds the adornment. You can achieve a layered look by combining skirt with trousers. As winter approaches, new designers are coming out with a tone of shearing. Most of these will become commonplace in fall and must-haves later in the year.
4. 3/4 Sleeve tops
All tops including blazers are losing inches from the palm. Short sleeves are also getting more material to give out an undecided look free for interpretation. The only clothes remaining sleeveless are bridal gowns and cocktail dresses.
5. Style
Patters are still on. They are more appropriate for bottom wear such as leggings and pants. More to come will be patterns on pencil pants. Other than the hat, the royal wedding had another effect on fashion this year. There will be more of lace gowns. Clutch bags are the must have on events, as they go well with hats. They also fit within the fitting theme for pants and dresses of this year’s trend. Where possible include a layered outlook.
6. What is not hot?
The 2012/2013 season will not have much of trench coats as fashionable. Layering in most designs and the stylish theme together with the ¾ sleeves has suppressed the trench coat. Unless one is pregnant, tunic tops that are oversize should not be worn. The same goes for huge pants.
Fuzzy leg warmers or fuzzy boots will also be out of place this year. Instead, opt for leather alternatives. Leather has made a major comeback on handbags and shoes. Make sure your knee-high boots fit up to the calf, otherwise you risk losing your fabulous look.
