Useful Makeup Tips for the Rainy Season
Welcome the rains with your makeup on!
Are you one of those loves the rainy season but is scared to venture outdoors for the fear of a caked face and panda eyes? Undoubtedly a quick shower is sufficient to spoil your look. That however is not a good enough reason for you to confine yourself indoors during the monsoons. Here are some tips that will not keep you dry will certainly make you look pretty despite the downpour spoiling your morning’s hard work.
Start your makeup regime especially during the monsoons by rubbing ice for a good seven to ten minutes after having washed your face with water. This will keep your face cool and will reduce sweat from spoiling your make up. Thereafter apply astringent if your skin is oily or a toner if it’s dry. Needless to say, moisturizing continues to be an essential part of the makeup even in this season.
A golden rule that needs to remember during monsoon is to avoid the use of foundation, which precisely is the culprit behind the cakey look on your face when you are caught unguarded without an umbrella in the downpour. Hence, it is advisable to replace foundation with face powder. It conveniently sticks to your face hiding the blemishes and scars effectively. Of course you may have to give it a touch up a couple of times during the day. But remember to use it sparingly so as to avoid a chalky and sickly look to your face.
However, if you cannot do without foundation at all then pick up a water resistant one that is of a shade near about to your skin tone. Remember to apply a very thin coat.
Likewise for your eye makeup use a water proof mascara and kajal. For a trendy and boisterous look you can use different colors of kajal like aqua, jade green, coral green, etc. Steer clear of dark eye shadow and use more natural and sheer colors.
The use of blush should also be kept minimal. A strict no to loud colors; stick to neutral colors. If you do not have waterproof blush then dab a bit of lipstick and spread to out with your fingertip to get the gorgeous look.
Since monsoon makeup is essentially light, the highlight of your makeup can be your lipstick. You can either opt for long lasting matte lipstick in bright red or continue with the subtle natural look and use browns, beige, coral, peaches and nudes. Your lip glosses can be forgotten for a while as they tend to get smeared and give an unflattering look.
With these handy tips all you pretty ladies are well armed to welcome the monsoons even without an umbrella but surely not without makeup!
