The drive from Ooty to Coimbatore is exhilarating. It takes about 3 hours to make the journey. You come down the mountains along twisting roads on either side of which are dense forests and tea gardens. Coimbatore hosts a tea auction every year.
Coimbatore is a centre for education. There are several colleges here and every year students from all over the country gather here seeking admission. The Bharatiar University is in Coimbatore. Coimbatore has one of the oldest medical colleges. Excellent medical facilities are available in Coimbatore.
