Dandeli – Nature’s Paradise
Dandeli is a town in Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka in the Western Ghats region. Dandeli is an ideal vacation getaway for those who love nature and adventure. Dandeli is breathtakingly beautiful and the large forest cover is spread over an area of 450 sq km.

The main bird species include Magpie Robin, Golden-Backed Woodpecker, Crested Serpent-Eagle and a large variety of Hornbills.
The climate in Dandeli is temperate throughout the year. The summer season prevails from March to May with an average temperature of about 33 degrees and the winters in Dandeli start from December and last up to February with an average temperature of about 26 degrees. The best season to visit Dandeli is from October to March. The ideal time for sightseeing and white water rafting is from December to May. For sighting the maximum birds, October and November are the best months because a lot of exotic birds visit the wildlife sanctuary during this time. Dandeli is 470 km from Bangalore and is well-connected by rail, road and air. Belgaum is the nearest airport, though the airports at Hubli and Goa are approachable. The nearest railway stations to Dandeli are at Alnavar Junction and Dharwad.
