Dandeli – Nature’s Paradise

Dandeli is a town in Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka in the Western Ghats region. Dandeli is an ideal vacation getaway for those who love nature and adventure. Dandeli is breathtakingly beautiful and the large forest cover is spread over an area of 450 sq km.

The climate in Dandeli is temperate throughout the year. The summer season prevails from March to May with an average temperature of about 33 degrees and the winters in Dandeli start from December and last up to February with an average temperature of about 26 degrees. The best season to visit Dandeli is from October to March. The ideal time for sightseeing and white water rafting is from December to May. For sighting the maximum birds, October and November are the best months because a lot of exotic birds visit the wildlife sanctuary during this time. The months of March, April and May are best for water sport activities as the weather is warm and water can be the perfect sport.

Dandeli is 470 km from Bangalore and is well-connected by rail, road and air. Belgaum is the nearest airport, though the airports at Hubli and Goa are approachable. The nearest railway stations to Dandeli are at Alnavar Junction and Dharwad.
