Bangalore Palace and Tipu Sultan Palace are among the major attractions in the city. Bangalore is known for natural lakes like Hasaraghhatta, Hebbal and Ulsoor. Boating facility is available in the Ulsoor Lake.
Bangalore has several religious places. St. Mary’s Church, the oldest church in the city, was elevated to the status of basilica. Built in 1851, Holy Trinity Church can accommodate 700 people. Dargah Hazarath Tawakkal is visited by both Hindus and Muslims. Jumma Masjid is an imposing structure. The city is also dotted with large number of temples like ISKCON Hare Krishna Temple and Maruthi Mandir.
Vidhan Soudha, where Karnataka legislature is situated, is a major attraction. Among other attractions are Lalbaugh, Cubbon Park, Ashoka Pillar, Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium and Film City. Bangalore has also the prestigious Indian Institute of Science.
