Talking about Yves Saint Laurent, we may associate it with Dior the famous fashion brand. For four years, Laurent had made a big difference beside Christian Dior. He took down the whole Dior kingdom only in 21 years old after the death of Dior. According to Dior, Laurent was the only one who was capable to assist him. Born in 1936 in Algeria which still belongs to France at that time, Laurent had a happy childhood with a successful business father and a socialite mother. As a child, Laurent had lots of chances to make contact with fashion clothing in various dinner parties. In his lonely childhood, only those dolls company with him. Then making dresses with a crayon, scissor and tape for those dolls are the only thing he liked to do. Later, he became a professional connoisseur of the costume of his mother and aunts.
Till he was 17, the most glorious time of him had come that became an assistant of Christian Dior. Five years later after Dior’s passing away, Laurent set up his own brand YSL later became the mark of the change of fashion styles and shock the fashion world. The 1960s and 0970s witnessed the rebellious spirits of Laurent. His design like flares, pullover, tank top, jackboot, neutral cloth and transparent cloth not only leaded the trend of fashion, but also shock the world. When time was to the 1996, Laurent break the limitations of the high level and noble bloodiness to design incarnate dress and seen through to support to abandon bras. Ten years later, he also was crashed on the exotic feelings like morocco, china, Japan and Spain. In 1977, the perfume of opium came into being which caused many queries.
You may never believe that he once was gone mad and only be calmed by sedative and sleeping pills. And it’s said that he was a gay. His partner was Pierre Berge who he met at the funeral of Dior and later became the decision maker of YSL.
In January 2007, Laurent suddenly announced to retire. No one knows the reason background. He had one sentence like that:”I know the terror of lonely. Sedative and medical are just fake friends with gloomy trap and hospital. I go out from them with fresh mind although my head is a little dizzy.”
