This is a 2.75 km length lake that is surrounded by eucalyptus trees and shrubs and at the far end of it you will be able to see Boat Houses. These are available for rent from 8 am – 6 pm. Every May there are boat races and boat pageantry that is being held for 2 days.
3. Rose Garden
10 acres of rose garden is located in the heart of Ooty town. In the garden you will be able to see rose tunnels, pergolas and bowers that has rose creepers.
Today, it is considered to have the largest collection of roses in the country. They have about 3600 varieties of roses. They even received an award from the World Federation of Rose Societies (WFRS) in 2006 as the “Garden of Excellence”.
4. Doddabetta Peak
This stands in altitude of 2623 meters and considered to be the highest point of the district. You will be able to see a Telescope House for you have a better view of the place.
5. Kalhatty Waterfalls
This is 36 meters drop waterfalls that is about 13 km from Ooty. This is about 2,000 meters above main sea level. It is best to visit this place during the months of September to November.
6. Ketti Valley View
This second largest valley in the world is located on the Coonoor Road.
7. Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctury
This sanctuary is located in Nilgiri Hills. This is the first wildlife reserve in South India. In the sanctuary you will be able to see sloth bear, elephants, gaur, spotted deer, Indian muntjac, mouse deer, wild boar, flying squirrel and a lot more.
