Uses of Precision Laser Cutting System and Precision Plasma Cutting System
There are two types of systems that are widely used for cutting material in industrial manufacturing companies. They are Plasma and Laser cutting systems. Besides these two systems, there are many other systems available which are also used for cutting materials, these two systems are comparatively more efficient and faster.
Laser cutting System
Laser beams are used for cutting materials in this system. It is widely used in many industries for welding, drilling, ablation, structuring and drilling purposes. The materials normally melts or burns on which thelaser cutting system is applied. There are two types of lasers mostly used in industries. One is gas lasers and the other is solid-state lasers. In gas lasers, gases like nitrogen and helium, carbon dioxide are applied as a medium whereas, in solid state lasers, YAG or Yttrium-aluminum garnet or neodymium ions are applied as a medium.
Now days in many industries, Precision laser cuttings mostly used than the traditional cutting process. The main reason behind growing demand of precision laser system is its accuracy in cutting materials. Most industries are now very much concerned about accuracy and quality. So, for them, this precisionlaser cutting system proves to be a wonderful tool. This system has a lot of benefits over traditional system. The precision laser cutting system is much cheaper than the traditional system and moreover it does not need any physical contact with the material for cutting while it is essential for traditional system.
Plasma Cutting system
The plasma cutting system was started from the year 1950. The reason behind the development of this process is that many materials like copper, stainless steel and aluminum are generally do not cut very easily by other processes. Hydrogen, oxygen, argon, nitrogen and air are generally used in this process. In this process energy is transmitted from an electrical power source. There are three elements in the plasma cutting system. They are an arc starting circuit, plasma cutting torch and an electric energy source.
Though the technology is same for both Precision plasma cutting systems and conventional systems, the precision systems offer much more superior quality. It is also called as high-definition plasma systems. The parts which are produced by the precision plasma cutting system are much more tolerant than the other system. The benefits of precision systems over conventional systems are as follows.
• Precision system cuts at a much faster rate
• It produces fewer bevels than the traditional system.
• It produces less waste.
So, choosing a precision system will definitely give much more high quality product than traditional system.
