The Chardham are open for the general public from first week of May till November depending upon the weather conditions in the region. The four shrines remain closed due to heavy snowfall in the region during December to April. The climate is more or less cold throughout the year but in winter i.e. from December to March the temperature is Subzero, which is snow bound. While in summer the temperature is bearable. Rainfall is around 1,460 mm throughout the year. The best season to visit is between May and October for all the Chardham Yatra.
