Hotels in Katra – On the Holy Mountain City
Katra, more popularly known as Katra Vaishno Devi is a famous pilgrimage city located on the foothills of the Trikuta Mountains in the Reasi district of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The holy shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi is situated in this small town of Katra which is at about 42 km away from Jammu. Katra has an average elevation of 754 meters above sea level.
Katra serves as the base camp for the pilgrims who visit the shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi. It takes a trek of about 12 km from Katra to reach the shrine of Vaishno Devi.
