A Brief Overview of the Career of Yul Whitney
Yul Whitney has done pioneering work in the capacity of a school psychologist in different school districts of California, while he is also looked up to by his peers for his extensive experience as an able school administrator. After completing of studies at high school level, Whitney decided to pursue education in Psychology and Sociology and manifested this decision by doing majors in the said subjects at college. Whitney’s passion and drive to contribute to the society particularly in the education sector led him to obtain master’s degree in Psychology and Sociology and also to complete Doctorate in Education. As a counselor and education activist, Whitney also holds membership of several non-governmental organizations and associations.
Yul Whitney was lucky enough to have started his professional career at Mococ County Office where he worked as a school psychologist as well as a program specialist. During his stint at ‘Mococ’, Yul occupied his time collaborating with general teachers and counselors to come up with innovative methods to teach course to special children. Later on, Whitney worked as Director of Special Education at Coalinga-Huron Unified School where he regularly consulted with different staff members such as nurses, speech therapists, instructional aides, psychologists, teaching staff and clerks to provide the necessary resources as well as training to make them more effective and functional.
Owing to his vast knowledge and experience as a school administrator, Yul Whitney was handed over the responsibility of supervising fourteen schools in Palm Springs district when he was appointed as Program Specialist at Palm Springs Unified School District. During the course of his career, Whitney has been one of the foremost proponents of tolerance and equal treatment for all students at schools. His efforts have been mainly directed to create a better understanding among normal students about the needs of special children and adults facing mental challenges. Yul Whitney has been operating as Assistant Superintendent at Palo Verde Unified School District since 2003.
As an educationist, Yul Whitney has few rivals in the state of California as he is looked up to by his colleagues and pupil as an icon. His contribution in the medical field have also been noteworthy as he has played a key role in helping doctors test and treat patients suffering from ‘dual diagnoses’. Apart from his exploits in the field of education, Yul Whitney is also an active member of Aircraft Owners and Pilot Association, Maryland, which is a body that aims at protecting general aviation rights of American citizens.
