The Boiler is connected to the consumers through the steam and condensate piping. When the steam is provided to the consumers, it condensates. It can then be returned to the feed water tank, from where it again is pumped to the steam boiler / steam generator.When the steam condensate is returned to the feed water tank, a pressure reduction is unavoidable and this cause generation of flash steam – typically just after the steam trap(s). This lead to the well-known large condensate heat loss for steam systems, which is actually mostly high-energy flash steam.This loss of flash steam represents loss of feed water, which then require
fresh and pretreated make-up feed water.But it often happens that the condensate is not fully or not even partly recycled because the steam is actually consumed. This increases the demand make-up water. The principle in the fire-tube steam boilers:Its that from the surface of a large volume of feed water, steam is evaporated. This boiling process is heated by the wall of the combustion chamber (the radiant part) and by the exhaust gasses passing through a bundle of so called fire-tubes or smoke-tubes (the convection part). The steam boiler is ideal for small and medium scale industries, studied to obtain maximum safety with the lowest investment.
