Computer and TV Screens
We all remember our big and heavy television sets and the sometimes equally heavy but not always wide computer monitors. Through the years, we saw the width of both the television set and the computer monitor shrink while their size went the other way.
You can buy anything from a normal 15 inch television set or computer screen to a large screen or even a very large television set that can be twice or three times this size.
This little revolution is mainly due to LCD displays and TFT displays. As technology moved on, scientists were able to put more into smaller micro processors.
We mainly see this evolution in our homes but the same has happened in companies and in sectors like the industrial sector. Industrial LCD touch screens, industrial LCD displays, industrial trackballs…the list is long. LCD screens are now used nearly everywhere and are kicking away the old computer screens and heavy television sets.
The same also goes with computer parts. Keyboards, mice and computer cases are evolving with the technology and are now widely adapted to who is using them and for what purpose. Industrial LCD displays can be made specifically to fit in a hospital, in public places or in a plant.
It is obvious that they will not be used in the same way and will need specific features. An LCD screen used in a plant will need to be resistant enough to withstand a twenty four hours use, while a screen placed in a hospital will need particular elements related to hygiene and medical needs.
We can even throw away our keywords and mice with LCD touch screens as we can directly touch the screen to do what we want, whether it is to select an option, or type something in.
The only little real downside of the LCD touch screen is the ergonomic problem involved with the fact that we have to touch the screens with our fingers a lot. This issue can be lifted for the moment with the use of a specific pen. This is not really possible though when using a touch screen on a public place or a cash machine.
Technology is transforming our everyday life as well as in all sectors of the industry. With new equipments coming every week, we can sometimes wonder how our world and our lives will be in ten or twenty years and what will be the place of technology in our lives.
