IndiGo Airlines was founded in 2006 and it started its service in the same year in August 2006. Within a short span of time, the airline has outgrown to become one of the largest airlines in India. Though majority of customers prefer booking their tickets online, they can also get their tickets booked through the booking counters, travel agents, or other methods like call centers or mobile phones. The passengers can make the payment using their credit cards or by paying cash, whichever is applicable. The international credit card holders should carry the photocopy of their credit card when they check-in at the airport.
The airline allows you to check-in 2 hours prior to the departure of the flight and it closes 45 minutes in advance of the departure of the flight. Customers with only hand baggage as their luggage are allowed to check-in online from 48 to 2 hours before the departure of the flight. You have to carry a printed copy of the flight itinerary, valid photo identity and credit card, which is used for flight booking, when you check-in at the airport. Failing to do so, you will be debarred from boarding the aircraft. For children, their school ID card is considered a valid photo identity card.
The airline provides a baggage allowance of 20 kg per customer. Other than that you can carry a baggage with you in the cabin, depending on the availability of space in the overhead bin. However, it should not be more than 7 kg in weight and should not carry any sharp or inflammable objects, and other such items.
