Bing Introduces SEO Tools to Its Service
Bing has always tried to do things a little differently to Google and aim to deliver more relevant, high quality results to users. Whilst Google may hold the crown in the search engine market, Bing continues to add more and more value for its millions of loyal users. Recently, the search engine launched SEO Reports and SEO Analyser. These tools have been a long time coming – Google has been providing these tools for years – but introduce them they have so we thought we’d take a look.
SEO Reports
According to Bing, their reports are “based on a set of approximately 15 SEO Best Practices.” If you want to access these reports you’ll have to set up an account. The report can then be run across as many domains as you list and a separate report will be generated for each. The great thing about these reports is that they will contain recommendations on what you can do to improve your site and its visibility. These reports are run every other week rather than day to day to give you a more rounded set of data.
The reports are a very helpful tool for those that are quite new to SEO and Bing has promised to expand upon the 15 best practices to provide more value to seasoned SEO professionals.
SEO Analyser
This tool is very useful in that it scans your listed domains and generates an in-depth report. Again, the 15 best practices are used and SEO Analyser will determine whether your pages comply with the best practices. On the left side of the report page you will notice more SEO suggestions and these can be very useful to pass to your web designer or webmaster or you may like to make improvements for yourself.
On the right hand side of the report you will see where the compliance issues lie. You can simply hover over the +1 button to expand the item and see where you are going wrong. This is a great way to see how your page elements interact with each other and what you can do to make things better.
SEO Analyser can be very beneficial for those who want to understand what their websites are doing, how they are performing and what areas they need to tweak to make user experience better and search engine visibility more effective. Unlike SEO Report which can only be run once a week, SEO Analyser can be run whenever you need to.
The eagle-eyed amongst you will notice that these tools are neither earth shattering or even new. Google has been providing its Google Webmaster Tools for years and they offer much better features. However, Bing’s tools let you get a broader view of the market and what works for one search engine might not necessarily work for another.
