As Mobiles banking and mobile money transactions are picking up pace in India, the need for security in transaction is also increasing. In this developing world where people don’t believe in long queue line to pay electricity bills or book an air ticket, mobile payments have started gaining popularity. But with this new technique, there arises a need of a secure transaction source.Keeping this view in mind Government of India is working on the security of these transactions. They are intending to come up with proxy SIM cards which will carry digital certificates. These SIM cards can then be used in your hand sets and they will ensure all the security associated with the transaction. The digital certificates includes many digital signatures and other unique identifying proofs. With these documents the transaction holds a degree of authentication and cannot be hacked easily by crooks.
In present world this facility will be solve many problems associated with the mobile transactions. This will help the Indian telecoms industry reach new heights and enter the next generation technologies.The official release of these encrypted SIM is expected soon in Indian markets once the government is able to end up on its final decision.Press Release:N Vijayaditya, Controller of Certifying Authority said, “To make India’s future in mobile banking and mobile transactions secure, we are recommending the certification of proxy SIM cards with digital certificates, which can be inserted on top of regular SIM cards. These will enable the signatures with emails and even SMSes sent via mobile phones,”
