In what concerns the type of watermeters available on the markets, we can speak about two major categories: volumetric meters and electronic or magnetic meters. A simple volumetric meter can be enough to satisfy common domestic needs, but for people who want more precise instruments, electronic meters will be a better deal. Both types of meters are easy to read, but in what concerns accuracy, perhaps it would be better to go with electronic meters. These are preferred by companies and residences with a higher consumption of water. Some devices can also register leaks and will alert you if any loss is registered. Usually, the leak detector part comes as a small triangle or star on the display of the watermeter.
