Product recalls has become a trend in our country for the past years. But the most untollerable product mistakes are those intended for children.
There used to be issues on toys and infant products that had been recalled by their respective companies out of defects and unsafe features or dysfunctional materials used. The recall has but several effects in the society and many of which proves to be detrimental and unacceptable. Three years ago, several toys of Mattel Inc., the makers of Barbie and Hotwheels, has been faced with thousands of complains after the authorities find out that their products from China has been made with so much lead contents. Authorities said that amount of lead found on Mattel toys can lead to poisoning. Just a month ago, a leading baby carrier company has faced similar fate when mothers complained about the mechanical and design defects on their baby sling. According to reports, Infantino voluntarily recalled a million of the “SlingRider” and “Wendy Bellisimo” after reports have associated three infant deaths to these products.
