Fenesta is a UPVC windows manufacturer and belongs to the DSCL group(www.dscl.com). It is headquartered in Gurgaon, Haryana and has sales and marketing offices in 11 cities in India. The company also has five factories located in Bhiwadi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad and a sixth factory under construction in Kolkata.

Fenesta provides window solutions specific to Indian conditions such as noise-proof windows and doors, monsoon-proof windows, *HarvnB| Hindu Business Line Bureau|2007, strong wind-proof windows, weather-proof windows and customised solutions.
Fenesta controls the entire supply chain from manufacture of PVC resin to extrusion, fabrication, installation and service. All extrusion takes place at its Kota manufacturing facility.
Fenesta has executed more than 300,000 windows installations.

History
In May 2002, DSCL signed a Technology Co-operation Agreement with Spectus Window Systems (UK), to receive technological know-how from the latter. In April 2003, Fenesta received its first order of windows in Delhi and in May 2003, Fenesta was officially launched. In September 2003, the first fabrication facility at Bhiwadi was started, followed by the addition of Readiness HSS Tooling in October 2003. In March 2004, the first extrusion was manufactured at the Kota Extrusion plant.
Soon after this, in June 2004, 2 factories were set up in Bangalore and Mumbai respectively and in November 2005, a factory was set up in Hyderabad. In February 2007, Fenesta eries 3000 was launched all across India. A factory at Chennai was set up in March 2007, followed by the recent commencement of work on the fabrication facility in Kolkata.

Green Windows
A Study by Professor Bansal of IIT Delhi proves that a well-designed energy-efficient window can save nearly 30 % in electricity costs. Such a reen window must fulfill two basic criteria:
It must be built with Environment friendly materials and
It must make efficient use of energy.
Fenesta designs window profiles using UPVC to meet the above criteria.
UPVC windows
UPVC is a poor conductor of heat; widely used materials for window frames are Wood, Steel, Aluminum and PVC. Aluminium and steel are good conductors of heat and hence the energy conservation is poor.

The higher the U value, the better the conducting properties of the material. PVC has the lowest U value and is hence popular in window manufacture.
PVC Resource Reuse
UPVC is 100% recyclable. A report by British Plastics Federation, states that PVC can be recycled relatively straightforwardly. It is now common practice to recover and recycle factory wastes and / or off-cuts after the window has been fabricated. Today technology is available to recycle UPVC 100%.
PVC Window Life Expectancy
As per British Plastics Federation the life expectancy of a PVC window is over 40 years.
