Warusawa Associates Expands Executive Team with Appointment of Naruatsu Kobayashi

Warusawa Associates, an independent investment management group dedicated to equity investments in emerging markets and a focus on local Japanese markets, today announced that Mr. Naruatsu Kobayashi has been appointed to the new role of Head of Alternative Investment.
Mr. Kobayashi will oversee all aspects of the firm’s relationship with alternative investment businesses across Asia. He will report to Masahito Yoshika, Managing Director and Asian Head of Product at Warusawa Associates.
He will work closely with the CEOs and leadership team of the company’s alternative investment businesses across Asia to strengthen the relationship with what are Warusawa Associates’ largest institutional customers.
The firm’s institutional investors have alternative investment businesses in 13 markets: Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Naruatsu’s experience across various key functions within the asset management industry will bring significant value to this important role,” Mr. Yokoyama said.
Most recently, Mr. Kobayashi was the company’s Head of Investments and Asset Liability Management at a worldwide insurance group, with responsibility for investment teams.
He has held roles with leading financial services organisations in Australia, Malaysia and New Zealand.
Mr. Kobayashi is a qualified actuary and holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from Tokyo Business University.
