THAI Surpasses Expectations, Releases 2022 Year-End Performance Results
(1888PressRelease) Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) released full-year 2022 operational performance results, detailing an increased demand for airfare to Thailand, with the aviation and tourism sectors continuing to rebound. The flag carrier airline reported a total revenue increase of over 340% year-over-year.
The full operational report for the year ended 31 December 2022 includes details on earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA), total expenses, assets, and more – while the report additionally highlights the significant increase in both passenger and cargo revenue for the airline.
Highlights from the report include consecutive quarters of continued profit to close out the year ended December 31, 2022, and profits beating projections from the Rehabilitation plan. Including both domestic and international flights to Thailand from USA and other countries, THAI increased year-over-year total passengers by 449%, surpassing 9 million total passengers during the year.
THAI has announced in the operational performance results report that the current fleet of 64 aircraft with operate flights to 39 destinations worldwide, in the Summer Programme 2023. The Summer Programme will increase flight frequency to regional routes including Tokyo (Narita and Haneda), and Osaka in Japan, Seoul, Taipei, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Kolkata and Mumbai in India. Flight service will also resume for Chinese destinations including Beijing, Shanghai, and others.
Thai Airways has also announced plans to expand the current fleet, to meet demand for additional flights.
