At one time or another, we all need something to print. In most part, the print with take the form of a text document, however in some cases even high resolution images are printed using photo paper and digital printers. No matter which media you chose you print, the cost is still there and savings are always around the corner. Here are couple of tips to help you reduce your printing costs.

Save On Ink:

Most people are unaware that when it comes to ink cartridges, they have a choice. Most of us will buy original (also known as genuine) cartridges, however there is another type of ink called compatible which as as good, but costs slightly less. Compatible and re-manufactured ink cartridges are produced by companies based on the precise printer model specifications, so they offer a good alternative and one which is more affordable.

Save On Paper:

You should always match the type of media you are looking to print with the right paper. If you are printing only documents, it stands to reason you use printer paper. If you require to print basic images such as charts, consider coated paper which is one level above print paper and one level below photo paper. Of course, when you do need to print images, use photo paper by all means, but why not consider some of the smaller and more affordable brands.

The best saving tip is to try and reduce your printing. If you do not really need the media printer, avoid doing so.
