The Yogi Philosophy of Breath
Our breath determines our emotional state, it determines our health, our appetite and it determines which side of our brain is in dominance at any one time. Of course the reverse applies – our emotions determine our breath, our appetite, which side of the brain we are Using and our health determine our breath. Action and reaction. Thus if we control our breathe we can control our emotion
Life is absolutely dependent upon the act of breathing. The Oriental and the Occidental
agree upon these fundamental principles the art of breathing is called as pranama . We now focus upon Prana”, the Sanskrit term mean “Absolute Energy”. The Hebrew writer of the book of Genesis knew the difference between the atmospheric air and the mysterious and potent principle contained within it. He speaks of “nesheme truach chaytm”, which, translated, means “the breath of the spirit of life”. the prana obeys thought; thought can be controlled through focus which can be obtained by yoga.
