The Long-Term Effects of Article Marketing
I would like to take a few minutes of your time to talk about how article marketing works. It is a common misconception that article marketing produces instant results, and unfortunately, this can be very discouraging for beginner internet marketers. The reality of article marketing is that it can take time, and if you have the patience and tenacity to write a few articles every day, then the traffic and sales will eventually pay off.
Those Crazy Success Stories
On several occassions, you hear or read about someone who made it big with a magic article that ranked well in the search engines. This isn’t a lie, but it also isn’t exactly accurate either. I would bet that the odds are pretty good that the author who did so well with that article didn’t do it on their first try. Even so,
The thing about article marketing is that it takes a lot of trial and error. You need to learn exactly how to line things up in an article, what to put in your resource box, and basically, how to get the reader to click through to the website that you are actually trying to promote.
Compounding Effects
Even if you are not an amazing writer, and can’t produce those amazing success stories, you can at least rely on the power of numbers. I do. In fact, I don’t really consider myself that great of a writer, but I know this. If I am to write a few articles every day a few things will happen for me.
The first, I will get more content out there, and by default I should get a little more traffic from every article I write.
The second, If I position my resource box correctly, and use the right anchor text in it, I will benefit from an SEO standpoint.
Lastly, the third, and most importantly, is the compound “interest” effect I will receive. The more articles I write with the proper keywords in them, the more eyes that will see them. And if I do this over a long period of time, I will have so many articles, that the traffic will eventually become substantial enough to make sales and earn a living.
And the cost? Nothing but time. And that’s the beauty of article marketing. All you have to do is sit back with a cup of coffee and jot down some key terms. Once you have these, then all you need to do is expand on them. I have a habit, which I’m try to break, of checking my word count every few minutes, but I have gotten the article writing process down to about 10 minutes for one piece. That is on average about 500 words.
To say the least, if you put 30 minutes of time per day to writing articles you can author 2 per day. If you did that just 300 days of the year, you would get 600 articles. If every article got only 10 clicks per day, after 2 years you would be betting 1200 clicks per day, or over 30000 clicks per month. And that is targetted traffic, because they already read what you have to say.
That, my friends, is the long-term effects of article marketing.
If you are a beginner article marketer, don’t get discouraged. It takes time to develop a nice flow of traffic. You will soon realize that your article marketing efforts have paid off.
