Not Just A Vacation With Long Term Travel

Not Just A Vacation With Long Term Travel

Long term travel is nothing like planning a series of shorter vacation periods one on top of the other. Oh no, long term travel is a horse of a completely different color. Traveling for long periods of time does not mean that you are on vacation. Long term travel also puts certain options at your disposal that vacationing does not.

Some people may think of longer periods of traveling as more expensive and only for the super rich. However, if you do some homework you will find out that long term travel is actually more affordable than you thought at first. You may even be surprised at what you find out about costs and options.

Traveling Long Term

When you go on vacation you are still paying rent, mortgage payments, lease payments and so forth. On top of that you are paying for your vacation accommodation. Your other monthly costs such as rates, home maintenance and water and electricity are still running up too. Add to that your car payments that you still need to make when you are on vacation and you have a lot of spending.

When you travel for months on end you can lease your apartment or terminate your lease or rental agreement. You can even sell your apartment or house and put your things into storage if you want to. As for your car, you can store it, sell it or even lease that out too.

If you choose to lease your home and car you are making money for jam while you are traveling. Time is another huge factor when vacationing or undertaking long term travel. Vacation costs incurred are for the most luxurious getaway you can afford and include sightseeing on tourist tours and buying souvenirs. When you opt for long term travel for three or even six months to a year your airfares may be higher. But, in total your costs are lover per day.

You won’t be staying in a hotel or resort and you can sight see at a leisurely pace. Instead of opting for tourist attraction tours that cost more. A $500 airfare for a roundtrip over 3 weeks averages to paying just over $23 per day for your airfare. Over 6 months two single tickets of $500 each average to roughly $5.55 per day for your travel fees. These are just two of the reasons you can afford long term travel more comfortably than a string of vacations for the same period of time.
