Using a Whole House Water Filter

Using a Whole House Water Filter

There are many different benefits that come from using a water filter in your home. Chances are that you are not aware of all the bacteria and chlorine and other byproducts that are lurking in your water and which you are consuming every time you have a glass of water or use water in your cooking.

Now especially if you have children in the home, of course you are going to want to do everything that you can to protect them and this means making sure that their drinking water is going to be safe and clean, free of contaminants. For this you are going to need a properly working water filter, and check the filter regularly to see when you need to get a new one to replace it.

Now there are a few different types of home water filters that are available, but the whole house water filter is one of the most popular.

Whole House Water Filter

With a whole house water filter, what happens is that these are designed as a point-of-entry system that filters water directly. This means that instead of just having a single water filter installed onto one tap in the house, you have one that is basically controlling all of the rest of the taps in the house so no matter which tap you turn on, it is going to be clean fresh water.

The whole house water filter has become extraordinarily popular over the past couple of years in particular, as we have seen environmental issues becoming more and more of a concern and people are starting to realize more and more just what sort of detriment the Earth is in.

The usually whole house water filter will use a four-stage filtration system which will remove most if not all of the harmful contaminants from the water supply. There is the first stage which involves filtration which removes any sediment materials in the water and then the second stage uses a chemical process that alters the molecular structure of chlorine and turns it into a harmless molecule known as zinc chloride.

Then there are the third and fourth stages of filtration which involve bituminous-activated carbon and coconut-shell activated carbon media. These stages of filtration work to filter pesticides and other remnants of biological matter.

As you can see, without a proper water filter the water that you are drinking is not clean at all and can actually cause damage to your body.
