3 Foods That You Must Not Eat When Dieting

Weight loss goals aside, can you think of anything better than sitting down with a piping hot ear of corn on the cob smothered in salt and butter? It is a vegetable after all and such a great comfort food how can this be bad? This is a very good question.

Well, In America the average adult consumes 67% of their total caloric intake from only 3 foods – corn, soy and wheat. The consumption of these 3 foods should only be about 5 to 10% of our total diet.

This imbalance in our diet is creating massive health problems associated with obesity, and the primary culprit in our diet hindering weight loss is these 3 foods.
Along with weight loss issues people are also developing allergies and intolerances to two of the culprits, wheat and soy, plus gluten intolerances.

Our digestive systems weren’t designed to handle this massive amount of:

1. Refined wheat flour
2. High fructose corn syrup
3. Corn oil
4. Soy protein
5. Soybean oil (hydrogenated or plain refined)

Possibly hundreds more including soy lecithin, wheat or cornstarch, mono or diglycerides and many more.

Foods that contain high levels of high fructose corn syrup include but are not limited to breads, salad dressings, ketchup, sodas, marinades and hundreds of others.

Here is another shocking fact; farmers feed their beef cattle a diet high in soy or corn knowing full well their bodies were not designed for it. They do this to add fat, which translates to weight, which earns the farmer more money when they sell them for processing.

This practice of feeding farm animals soy and corn derivatives changes the omega 6 to omega 3 ratios, making the cattle unhealthy. Grass fed beef have healthy CLA fat stores which are diminished by feeding corn and soy. Other farm raised animals who see a similar fate are salmon, farm raised fish and chickens.
This means that even when you are consuming healthy foods such as chicken, fish or beef you are still leaving your health at risk due to the soy, corn fat buildup.

If you are truly going to affect weight loss and get a handle on our health, then it all starts with the grocery cart.

Don’t buy processed foods! Buy simple healthy foods. Fruits, veggies, beans, eggs (free roaming chickens) nuts, seeds, and meats from grass fed or free roaming animals.

1. Dine out once per week and eat junk food on that day. This limits your access to junk and the temptation to eat it.
2. Eat most of your carbohydrates from fruits and vegetables, not grain.
3. Try to get most of your carbs from fruits and veggies instead of grains.
4. Unhealthy canola oils should be off the menu as well.
5. When you are hankering for corn chips try a crisp veggie stick with guacamole.
6. Decrease your pasta, bread and cereal consumption, have it on your cheat day.

My point is, you’re not going to always be perfect with your diet, but you have to get the percentages of corn, soy, wheat and their myriad of derivatives back in line with good health standards. Your long term health and weight loss depend on it.
