To broaden the options even further

This year’s 18-karat gold releases are coherently organized into five categories, according to shape: cushion, tonneau, square, oval and round. Within those shape designations, one can pick and choose from a variety of options specific to each category. The cushion, tonneau, oval and round models are offered with mother-of-pearl dials. All are available with diamond bezels. The two models in the square collection are available with diamond-studded cases, bracelets and/or pavéd dials. All are quartz and all are water-resistant to 100 feet.
To broaden the options even further, Cyma has also unleashed seven new models in 14-karat gold, available in styles that variously include mother-of-pearl dials, diamond bezels and diamond-pavéd dials. Under its Sea Wave collection of stainless steel and two-tone watches, fifteen new styles were released. In the Tapestry collection of 18-karat gold-plated watches, twenty-seven new styles make their debut. In the 18-karat gold-plated Sonatine collection, four new styles were added and, finally, twenty new styles were added to the stainless steel sports collection. That makes a total of eighty-nine new styles from Cyma this year. And that’s just the ladies’ collection.“We introduce at least twenty-five new gold models every year,” confirms Crouch.
The Cyma line consists of 70 percent ladies’ watches—90 percent of the gold watches are for women. There is also a men’s line, however, and fans include Hal Sutton, the 2004 Ryder Cup captain and Larry Brown, coach of the Philadelphia 76ers. Cyma is distributed by Glenn Corporation and is available at 800 outlets across the United States. C
This brand’s excellent mechanical watches are a true value hile the Davosa brand name is relatively Wnew, the company that started the brand isn’t. Davosa is a Swiss watch brand owned by Hasler & Co. SA established in 1861 by Abel Frédéric Hasler. The Hasler story is similar to many of the other smaller, more obscure Swiss watchmakers of the period. Over the years, the business remained primarily a family owned operation, joined by brothers and passed along to sons as the decades passed. Remarkably, through its quality of workmanship and good management, the company soldiered on through many trials. When the quartz movement revolution in the 1960s shut down many small Swiss houses, Hasler & Co. persevered. (Interesting enough to note is that Hasler & Co. didn’t begin offering any quartz watches until 1975.)
Today, its full line of both men’s and ladies’ mechanical and quartz watches are sold through a network of authorized retailers located in Germany, as well as a U.S.-based distributor for all of North America. The Davosa website provides additional information on company history, points of sales and an online catalog of its entire collection.
