About wine growers Direct Austraalia
I always wondered what the difference between champagne and sparkling wine was… A quick internet search revealed to me that champagne was only different from sparkling wine because it is grown in the Champagne region in France. This surprised me because champagnes are generally quite a bit more expensive than sparkling wines. I decided to run a little tast experiment with a couple of friends in which we blindly tasted some champagne and sparkling wine and see which ones we prefered… I decided to buy the wine online from winegrowers direct (www.winegrowersdirect.com.au) because they have a pretty large selection of both sparkling wine and champagnes. I bought a beautiful Australian sparking wine and a bottle of reasonably priced champagne, I tried to match the prices of the sparkling wine and the champagne which was difficult because winegrowers direct has much lower prices compared to the store prices, I think this is because they source their wines from the growers. The end result of my little experiment is although the champagne was generally preferred by the group, 2 of the 5 of us (including myself) were adamant that the Australian sparkling wine had a finer bead and a smoother finish than the champagne. It was quite a bit of fun due partly to the fact that half way through that game we were starting to get a bit tipsy haha.
