Toddlers & Tiaras is an American reality television series that debuted on TLC in 2009. The show follows the controversial world of child beauty pageants, looking closely at the pageant contestants and their families as the children prepare for their pageant shows. The show airs without any narration in order to avoid passing judgment. Season 1 of Toddlers & Tiaras premiered on TLC on January 27, 2009.

The show “Toddlers in Tiaras” features three pageant contestants as they go through the stressful pageant process from start to finish. “On any given weekend, on stages across the country, little girls and boys parade around wearing makeup, false eyelashes, spray tans and fake hair to be judged on their beauty, personality and costumes. Toddlers and Tiaras follows families on their quest for sparkly crowns, big titles, and lots of cash,” the Toddlers in Tiaras website says to describe the show.
“We are trying to keep this business as usual,” Shomper said. “Me and Kathy (Restivo) have gotten a good reputation for putting the kids first. We put our hearts and souls into this an just because it’s on TV isn’t going to change the pageant that much, if anything the prizes are better than usual. No matter how they do the kids leave with something,” she added.
The ultimate title, Ultimate Supreme, will also be awarded to the contestant from any age group with the highest score. “This is the prize everybody competes for,” Shomper said, this winner will win a piece of jewelry from Tiffany’s along with other prizes. Storybook usually doesn’t limit registration but because of the time restrictions of the show this pageant will have only 10 spots per age group, so time to register is limited.
Admission to watch the Jan. 22-23 pageant costs $10 for both days or $5 for to watch the crowning on Sunday. Admission to watch the Feb. 19 pageant costs $15 for adults and $10 for children.
