Using Baking Soda for Acne

A lot of people have been asking if baking soda can really be a treatment for acne. Well then this article will take care of this debate. Yes, you can treat pimples with the help of baking soda. And most of these are from personal experience. Following are some home acne remedies for baking soda.

Face mask
Baking soda acne treatment is one of the most effective yet simple acne remedies today. Most people combine the powder with water to make a paste. This is applied directly to the skin and left there for the next ten to fifteen minutes. When removed using warm water, not only does it clean the skin but leaves it much softer and fresh looking. You can do this at least four times a week, preferably before going to bed. Of course, like other home acne remedies, you must first wash your face with warm water before doing this. Don’t start rubbing towel on your face to dry. Gentle patting or dabbing would be preferable.

Spot treatments
Now this method of baking soda acne treatment is pretty much the same with the first one. However, the paste is not applied to the whole face but only to the problematic pimple. It can be left overnight and removed in the morning. What this does is dry the pores and remove excess oil off the skin. Again, use a clean towel to gently dab on the skin after removal.

Baking soda and scars
Most believe that baking soda has the capacity to remove scars. Many people have already proven this method to be true.

Testing Baking Soda
People with sensitive skin aren’t really recommended to use this treatment. Try putting baking soda paste on the inside of your wrist first to test. Allow it to remain there for some time before removal. If your skin itches, then just look for another acne treatment method.

If you’re allergic, then there are some other acne treatments you can try. Some of these include toothpaste, pumpkin and even garlic. Pumpkin and garlic have all the earmarks of an effective face mask. They also double as scar removers so it’s a win-win situation. Placing toothpaste on the pimple is also effective.

Remember that these methods don’t work super fast. However, if you stay on the routine, then you’ll find out if they really work for you. Also, don’t forget that you should get plenty of exercise and eat healthy. This will help keep your skin healthy from the inside out. Wash your face daily and never forget to remove make up before going to bed.
