Finding A Way To Be Perfectly Unperfect
Life is strange sometimes; people strive and struggle to make their lives perfect but in vain. Everyone has a dream which he/she wishes to achieve at some point in life. therefore one will struggle until he/she accomplishes his/her mission only to realize that it is not the end of struggle – there is still one part of life that is still way behind accomplishment. In my life, I have always struggled to lead a perfect life and luckily enough, I have been able to accomplish some dreams. For instance, I have been able to land my dream job and got a good pay. However, despite this, my social life has always suffered; happiness has always eluded my family; I wonder why be successful on one side and miserable on the other. My main problem has always been that, whenever I accomplish one thing, I find that there is still another thing that needs to be accomplished – it is like chasing the rainbow.
This is a problem that is inherent in me and therefore information necessary to solve it should come from analyzing myself and the influences that make my life unperfected. According to ITS Tutorial School (2009) information may be gathered from within and outside and it is important to start with the information that will take the longest time to collect. Personal information that should be gathered includes my childhood life background, my perception about perfection, how I spend my time doing different things and my social interactions with other people. In addition, information about solving this kind of a problem should be gathered from outside. For instance, I will gather information about how other people cope with life, their achievements and gaps, and also their perceptions about being perfectly unperfect. Generally the outside source will involve those people that from an outside eye seem to be perfect as they are likely to provide sufficient information about perfection. Past experiences are important as they will help to identify any shifts in the course of life.
Evaluation of the information gathered will involve creating meaning on the information in relation to the problem. First, the information will need to be organized in a manner that will be easy to synthesize. The validity of the information gathered will be ensured only if the source of the information can be established; otherwise it will be unreliable and invalid. For instance, personal information will be readily available from personal experiences and this information can be evaluated on the basis of what has been achieved or not achieved.
Evaluation will aim at ensuring that the information gathered is relevant to the problem solving process. For instance, it will be important to have a positive attitude about lack of perfection as it will help to derive the relevant understanding of others perception and state of affairs. Indeed Patient Empowerment community (2009) claims that imperfection is just an irregularity that forms part of human being and not a flaw.
