Coffee Machines for College Kids

Being a school instructor has its benefits. Learning what the students are into is one of those perks.

A light bulb went off in my head when one of the parents told me that she was getting her daughter an one serve coffee maker. It appears that more students are drinking coffee now which was not ordinary in the past. That certainly was not true in the past.

When I attended school, very few kids were having coffee. Now, they are connoisseurs of the stuff. I guess I should have taken notice when our high school yearbook had a coffee theme two years ago. Kids are showing up every morning with their Starbucks, Carribou, and Java Joe to-go cups grasped in one hand as they try to clutch the books in the other hand.

We have had a Keurig single serve coffee maker in the room behind the media center. That’s where I learned the benefits of this awesome appliance.

Yes, the k-cups do cost more than the coffee you brew from a bag of ordinary coffee purchased at a grocery store, but there is no difference in coffee taste.

I usually save money by ordering over the internet but I still pay more than at the grocery store. There is just no way that I can critic the price because the taste is excellent.

So my colleague is informing me about the Keurig coffee unit her daughter has at school. Since they don’t have a kitchen in school the girl thought that the coffee machine was a life saver. They are in no way late for class because they can with no trouble take one cup of coffee to class without worrying about the mess.

This really works for the students because they are on a low budget while at college. A sunrise cup of coffee would cost them about 4 dollars. By making their own cup of coffee they are actually saving more money. It is a win-win arrangement for students and parents. More than $100 are being saved by parents each month and the students are still getting their daily coffee. As a mother, you can even put a Keurig one serve coffee unit bug in Grandma’s ear. The grandparents are always trying to help out or get things for their grandchildren, and this would really give them some “trend status” in the eyes of their grandkids.

What’s on your counter? You really don’t have to be a college student to enjoy a Keurig single serve coffee maker.
