eBay Auction Tactics to Improve Your Results
If you learn how to set up your eBay auctions effectively, you can build a part time or even full time business out of it. By optimizing your auction properly, you can draw more buyers into it and drive up the price. Inexperienced eBay sellers tend to just list their items without doing much to optimize their auctions, which is why they’re often disappointed with the results. There are several actions you can take that will make eBay buyers much more likely to participate in your auctions.
If you have a product you know is going to be popular, the best strategy is to let people start bidding low, as this will bring more attention to the auction. So if you have a very popular product, get people interested by setting the opening price low. However, don’t go about starting the bids at below $1 because the buyers may think that your product is not genuine or is of low quality. Some buyers search for items that are the lowest priced for that category, so by starting your price low, these searchers will find your listing.
The more specific you are when you describe your product, the better your results will be. The better you can describe your product, the more information bidders will have about it. You shouldn’t leave anything out of your listing that could possibly be relevant. You’ll get more bids and higher selling prices if you take the time to fully describe your products, as buyers will often avoid items that are only vaguely described.
You have to use reserves intelligently if you want to succeed on eBay. Reserves are a way for sellers to protect their items from selling too low -they set a minimum bid or reserve that must be reached for the item to actually be sold. You won’t usually see reserves on low priced items. It’s just a way to ensure that you get the minimum amount for your product and you reserve the right to not sell it if you don’t get this price. Putting a reserve on your product can lessen the activity for your auction, as it removes the possibility of getting a real bargain. It’s a good idea to admit that you’ve set a reserve price in the item description so people are informed of this.
When you list products on eBay, then, it makes sense to optimize them using the methods we’ve discussed in this article. Making a few small adjustments can mean getting a much higher price for your item. When you optimize your eBay auctions, you’re essentially giving the public more helpful information about your products, which is good for everybody.
One of my favorite ways to utilize this technique is when I am promoting an article such as Zerg Build Order. Whether you are seeking to improve a business or a Starcraft 2, the techniques in this post are the same.
