As your pregnancy progresses your baby is getting larger all the time. Each week it is a little bigger than the previous week’s size. By the time you are 11 weeks pregnant the baby is just the right size to fit in the palm of the hand. It is around one and a half inches long and weighs about a quarter of an ounce.
Before week 11, the baby’s skin was basically transparent. You could actually see through the baby’s skin. Although it is still real thin it will begin to lose most of the transparency over the next few weeks. They are beginning to move his hands. He will start to close and open his little hands. They also have started forming small nodules in their mouth that will turn into teeth one day!
There is a big difference in the baby’s toes and fingers by this stage of the pregnancy. Before, they had a webbed appearance. Now they have begun to be separated. The baby is most likely starting to move around a lot more in your belly too. And it is getting ready to go through a big spurt of growing. It will actually just about double in size in the next three weeks.
While your baby is changing in your belly you are probably starting to notice some changes in your body as well. For one everyone else is now beginning to see small signs of your pregnancy. You are probably starting to show just a little bit. It may not be much, but by the next few weeks there will be no doubt of the baby which is growing inside of you.
Your uterus is just beginning to get larger and is just now beginning to fill up the pelvic area. It won’t be long until your belly will announce your pregnancy when you enter a room!
You are probably feeling pregnant by now too, even if you are not quite showing. Your fingernails and hair are probably growing a lot faster than usual. And your hair may change from its normal form, it may be harder to fix than it used to be. If you are one of the unlucky ones who have had morning sickness, it should begin to subside over the next couple of weeks.
