Door Handles: How They Can Convey A Message Or Enhance Decorations

If a person on the street was asked about what goes into the making of a door, chances are many things would be suggested. Few who answered the question, however, would forget about the door handle. Door handles are absolutely vital for any door, no matter where it is located. Without it, opening a door can prove to be difficult, if not impossible. Some people show their appreciation for door handles by having their design match their own personal tastes. But door handles can do more than simply act as a way to open a door; they can also be incorporated with decorations and messages.

A trip to a local hotel can often bring about a glimpse of this: the “do not disturb” sign. These are frequently used by hotel guests to let anybody outside of their room know that they wish to be alone. It could be because they wish to sleep in, or maybe they simply do not want to deal with any visitors for awhile. These signs were made especially for door handles; they are out in the open and hard to miss, no matter how far away from the door a person might be. They get the point across without any need for a verbal conversation.

Of course, door handle signs do not have to deal with being left alone exclusively. These decorations can also announce who lives on the other side of the door. Children and teens tend to take this road, as they want to put in their own bit of personality in the home. When their parents or other legal guardians run most of the show, it can be fun to control something, even if it is something small. These door handle decorations can state the person’s name, or showcase a picture of something that the person likes.

When any holiday during the year arrives, door handles can take on yet another use. Even if a person lives in a large home, they may not have enough room for all of the decorations they wish to put up. Some decorations would not work on the walls or furniture. In such a case, it could be possible to hang a decoration from a door handle. They can be jingle bells should the holiday be Christmas, or perhaps pink ribbons or hearts for Valentine’s Day. The only limit depends on what the home owner or any visitor can come up with.

The door handle may not be much more than that in the eyes of some people, but without them, doors would simply be boards with intricate designs. Without door handles, getting from one sealed room to the other can prove to be a dire chore. But if a person wants to get creative, they can turn a door handle into an extra way to get out a message, or express who they are. Whether they want people to stay out of their room, or just want to announce a resident, it can be done with the right tools.
