Information On Painting Pads

Do you enjoy painting? But do you shy away from painting because you can’t do it well? You probably leave out the corners or you end up making the wall look messy? Or, you simply haven’t tried because you are worried you will spoil your wall? No worries at all because paint pads will help you get to the difficult corners of those walls and also help you finish your work smoothly and easily. You just need some knowledge and practice for this and you are ready to use paint pads so that you can paint not only faster but also better!

Paint pads are actually used for edges and corners or in places where it gets tricky to paint. One example is the window frame. These pads will not only help you be quicker – like rollers – but also help you finish your work meticulously – like a paint brush. Paint pads can be used for laying paints on large surfaces also. The advantage is that they help in finishing the work neatly without leaving marks like those of a paint brush. Also, their rectangular shape and the mohair fibre covering all over the body helps in making sure that the pad is always in contact with the wall completely; whatever may be the surface.

The technique of using paint pads is pretty simple. The size of the paint pads will depend on the area that you want to paint. For narrow areas of windows and railings, 1 by 2 inches is ideal and for large surfaces such as door frames, 3 by 5 inches would be just fine. After this according to the surface that you are going to paint, choose the type of material. If you are dealing with a smooth, flat surface, you can go for foam pads. If the surface you are going to paint is rough and difficult, you could use a mohair pads. I like to use mohair pads for everything though to be honest.

These paint pads usually come with a tray. You must use it as it is more convenient than deciding to paint directly from the can. Also, it is much neater. Paint pads always hold lesser paint than rollers. Whatever excess paint there might be, you can wipe it off onto the tray before beginning to paint. It is important to paint in a single direction only. Also, long strokes are ideal. Keep in mind to always clean your pads with detergent and water as soon as you finish painting to keep them from getting crusty.

Painting seems much easier now, doesn’t it? Grab your paint pads now and get painting!
