Big cars are stressful
I’m feeling very nervous, for the first time I will be driving the new BMW X5 to the airport. My husband bought the X5 for my birthday last month, since then I have only driven in the local area to drop my kids to school and back home.
I don’t feel confident to drive such a big car yet, it will probably take me months before I can start venturing out of my local area. Now I have no choice but to build courage to drive to the airport, usually my husband does the long journeys but he couldn’t take the day off.
It’s not the driving I’m worried about it’s the parking that stresses me out; I’ve never driven a big car before so trying to park it in small spaces will be a nightmare. At least I don’t have to worry about finding a big space as car parks at the airport have parking bays.
The other thing that I’m worried about is the width restriction barriers; I have trouble getting my small car through them, so how will I get the big X5 through without hitting the sides. I’ll just have to close my eyes and hope for the best.
My husband discovered a width restriction in our area, so he told me to practice driving through it with the X5 while he is there with me. At first I thought he was joking around with me but he was actually really serious, so I decided to listen to him as I didn’t want anything to go wrong on the day.
