The Patriots Are Back on Top Again
It’s inside the sports news just now. The New England Patriots won by a quite wide margin over the New York Jets. They’re back in control of the game and at the top of the roster. It was a 45-3 victory. And given the low profile of their new recruits this year, some thing has to be said for the coach himself.
Among the new recruits of the New England Patriots for this season are Alge Crumpler, Gerard Warren and Damione Lewis.
Alge Crumpler’s first professional football game was played with the Atlanta Falcons who hade recruited him back in 2001. His first game was played against the Carolina Panthers. The year following, in 2002, he was assigned the position of starter’ It was in 2003 that he received the first of his many Pro Bowl Awards. It was also in that year that the team record for catching passes was surpassed by Crumpler. The record had been set in 1980.
In 2008, September, Crumpler transferred camps and signed up with the Tennessee Titans. During his stay with the Titans, he gained considerable weight. That, combined with his playing skills made him a very good block.
The New England Patriots finally signed him up in 2010. His arrival was fortunate because during the second week of play the offensive captain of the team was incapacitated by a knee injury. He has made a reputation for himself for being helpful to his teammates, sometimes giving them advice about their playing style.
Gerard Warren began his career as defensive lineman with the Cleveland Browns. This was during Gerard Warren is a defensive lineman who began playing professional football with the Cleveland Browns. He was recruited in 2001. Prone to accidents, three times he had to be treated for an injured knee. Although he is not a winner of awards like Crumpler, his playing style is impressive while with the Browns. Later on, he signed up on his own with the New England Patriots.
Damione Lewis was originally a recruit of the St. Louis Rams. This was in 2001 and in the five years that he played for this team, he enhanced his game play and later went on to post career high scores in tackles. When he signed up with the Carolina Panthers in 2006, he developed his playing prowess such that during this period his unit was in the all-time eleventh top position for rushing yards per game.
In contrast to the fact that the New England Patriots’ recruits this year are very modestly chosen is their astounding 45 – 3 victory they just had over the New York Jets. Is it the way they train their men, the way they teach them to coordinate with the rest or is it sheer determination to win? As of now, the New England Patriots are on the top of the League. Will the New England Patriots be able to maintain their leadership for the next season which is just around the corner?
